SS Backed Semiconductor Strain Gages
Piezo-Metrics semiconductor Bar & U strain gages are available pre-mounted, or "Backed", on a flexible insulated circuit substrate. Our SS semiconductor strain gages have been found to have 50 to 75 times greater sensitivity than that of metal foil gauges. Multiple thermally matched backed gages can be ordered to form a custom configuration where all the backed gages are thermally matched to each other. The backed SS gage helps simplify the installation of strain gage sets and provides flexibility for many applications. The insulated circuit is flexible enough to bend around a rod as small as 0.5 inches (12.7 mm) in diameter without damaging the gage.
